It would have been nice if this collection of parts had been accompanied by some instructions on how they're to be assembled and the mount installed. I figured out how to loosen and tighten the joints using the included allen wrench, and figured out how to attach and tighten the magnetic head. The extra red ring (there's also one also attached to the base of the unit) is a mystery, although it has one adhesive side covered with peel-off paper so I suspect it's intended to be glued somewhere. Past that, I have no idea how to affix it to my dashboard, and I'm certainly not going to to glue it in place and destroy the finish of my dashboard. Maybe I'll just try setting it in one of the cupholders. Due to the complete lack of English instructions on assembly, installation and use, I consider this a fail.
