I’ve been looking for a simple stand for my smartphone and this Echorus Magnetic Wireless Charging Stand seemed interesting, so I decided to give it a try.It arrived in a simple well padded box, and inside you will get:-all metal stand with wireless charging puck-USB-C to USB-A charging cable-2x adhesive magnetic mounts for your mobile phoneThere’s no supplied instructions, but it’s all pretty much common sense.When you flip the base over, you’ll see a small Allen Wrench for tightening up the pivot points that is indented into the base. This is a great way to make sure you always know where it is!What caught my attention were the multiple pivot points:-stand rotates 360° on the base-arm pivots at 1) base 2) elbow 3) top and 4) 360° pivot at base of the charging puck.This allows a wide range of control over placement and comfort in viewing your phone once it is on the base.My smartphone case already had a magsafe metal ring, and it holds well on this Echorus stand. My phone with case is heavy at just over 13 oz, and I had confidence that it would not fall off. But with such a heavy phone, extending the arm outwards horizontally isn’t going to work since the base, while heavy, can’t handle that much weight.I’ve used this for the past couple days and I have to say that I’m impressed by this stand.But... there is one glaring issue. The PRICE.This item is listing on Amazon for roughly $70; even though this is well-built, secure and stable, I can’t see where it should cost this much. If you are clever (and have way too much time), you can assemble something very similar from other stands and car wireless chargers for much less. Or, you could go the simpler route and just get a simple phone stand and let gravity cradle your phone.As an Amazon Vine Reviewer, I am asked to provide an honest evaluation on products, and since I rely on reviews as well when I’m shopping for things, I can’t gloss over the pricing. At $30 to $40, I can argue that this is a well-made stand that will last a long time. But when I can take a family of four out to dinner for the same price as this stand, I have to say something.If this comes down in price, definitely look this over. It has a clean simple design and function that makes it useful. But at the current price, I’d argue that you should consider if this really is the best item for your needs.
